Voronezh concert hall - big stage
Alexander Ostrovsky
Russian State Theatre "Satyricon" named after Arkady Raikin (Moscow)
Director - Eugene Marcelli
Closing of the festival!
Duration – 2 hours 10 minutes without intermission

Fresh premiere of the Satyricon Theatre, which captivated the audience of the past Platonov Festival.

The performance is a paradox of a little-known play, which, nevertheless, fits the whole world of Ostrovsky. The main character - official Obroshenov - is played by Konstantin Raikin. But the title characters of four more plays are included in the performance: “Thunderstorms”, “Daisies”, “Forests” and “Snow Maiden”. The comedy changed the volume and went into the vast space of the Ostrovsky Theatre

“Here, all the game and the jokers are absolutely everything, including the higher powers that gave a person such a complex and curious phenomenon as life,”says Eugene Marcelli. A poor official arranges his daughter’s wedding. Cash humiliation is easier for him to endure under the guise of a jester. It’s about the wedding, but on the stage there are different patterns of love: from happy to venal, from unrequited to tragic.

“For a long time, a performance marked by such mental health, such a brilliant acting team of both experienced and very young actors has not been staged on the Russian stage.”
