Following the idea of Andrey Platonov, whose story «Nikita» was not staged before, Puppet Theatre of Omsk thinking about how war might feel the child left by fate in the house alone. Boris Salamchev and Olga Verevkina built compositionally complex action, where original language of Andrey Platonov, filigree work with puppets, shots from the movies and amazing music are the full participants of the performance.  By the modern means theatre tells a very ancient story about the two states of life - a state of war and state of piece.
«Nikita’s Childhood» took part in the International Festival of Puppet Theatres «KUKART», St. Petersburg, International festival «White Tower», Brest, XV International Festival of Children's Theatre, Subotica (Serbia, 2008), International Festival of ZLATNA ISKRA, Kragujevac (Serbia, 2008).

In 2010 the play was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Festival «Golden Magnolia» in Shanghai (China).

Boris Salamchev - Honored Artist of Russia. Works in Puppet Theater «Arlekin» since 1987. Staged performances in Abakan, Bratsk, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, Kurgan, Kustanai, Tambov, Tomsk, Chelyabinsk, Chita Puppet theaters, as well as in Omsk State Chamber Theatre «The Fifth» and the Omsk Philharmonic.
