Exhibitions "Andrey Platonov" and "Osip Mandelstam in Voronezh" opened in the Voronezh Regional Museum of Literature

Exhibitions "Andrey Platonov" and "Osip Mandelstam in Voronezh" opened on December 16th in the Voronezh Regional Museum of Literature named after Nikitin.

The exhibition dedicated to Andrey Platonov is based on the materials that were presented in the museum in 1999. Now it is totally renewed: the exposition got new form and content. New pictures and books were added, among them the first book of Platonov’s poetry "The Blue depth".

The exhibition dedicated to Mandelstam is presented in Voronezh for the first time, though the world-famous poet spent here three years in exile where he wrote a collection of poems known as the Voronezh Notebooks which is considered as one of his greatest work. The exhibition is devoted to the Year of Mandelstam announced in Voronezh in 2012 - the year of poet’s 120th anniversary. Its concept was created by the famous theatre artist Emile Kapelyush (St. Petersburg) and the Head of the Platonov Festival Mikhail Bychkov. Mikhail Bychkov thinks that Festival visitors and participants can form their own view of the Voronezh period of Mandelstam and Platonov.

The exhibitions were created with the help of the Museum staff and Voronezh cultural figures – the poet Galina Umyvakina and the representative of Mandelshtam Society, writer Oleg Lasunsky.
