On September, 7 the "Book of the Year-2011" award ceremony took place in The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow academic Music Theater. 3 publications were among the nominees for the main award: eight volumes of works by Andrey Platonov, the book “100% of Ivanovo. Propaganda textiles of the 1920s-1930s from the collection of the Ivanovo State Local History Museum” and “Great Russian Encyclopedia”. Finally the collection of works by Andrey Platonov became the winner.
It was started in 2009. Essays and short stories, plays and comments, critic and journalistic works – almost everything written by Platonov was included in this major work, great part of which was published for the first time. The publication became possible only due to great work done by the famous researchers of Platonov heritage headed by Professor Natalia Kornienko. She was also the head of the Platonov readings at the festival.
Cover of the eight volumes of Platonov’s works was made by a great master, a chief designer of the publishing house “Time” Valery Kalnynsh whose outstanding works of art were presented at the festival exhibition "Andrey Platonov’s world seen by artists of different generations”. It gathered four original illustrators of Platonov: Valery Kalnynsh, Svetlana Filippova, Natalia Konshina and Lev Saksonov.
