Platonov Award laureates - Boris Ekimov, Mikhail Pletnev, Lev Dodin, Aleksandr Petrov.
We have already reported our plans to invite all four Platonov Award laureates of the past festival editions. Today, when the festival program is almost formed, we are ready to give chapter and verse.
On the 5th of June an outstanding Russian writer, the laureate of Platonov Award 2011 Boris Ekimov will hold a meeting during which he’ll tell about his works and answer the questions of the guests, and Chamber Theatre’s actors will read pieces out of “Pinochet” novel and other Ekimov’s works.
On the 4th and 5th of June on the stage of Theatre for Young Spectators Voronezh citizens will see performance “An Enemy of the People” by Lev Dodin – an artistic director of Maly Drama Theatre - Theatre of Europe, Platonov Award laureate 2012.
On the 4th of June in Opera and Ballet Theatre one of the most awaited event of the classical musical program will be held – the Russian National Orchestra concert under Mikhail Pletnev’s conduction, a laureate of Platonov Award 2013. The program includes Viola Concerto composed by Maestro, as well as Brahms and Bach compositions in Mikhail Pletnev’s orchestration.
On the 4th of June in Chamber Theatre’s art gallery an exhibition “Aleksandr Petrov. Art in motion” will be opened, and in the theatre club there will be an artist’s workshop dedicated to the art of paint-on-glass animation. Aleksander Petrov is a world-known animator; among his awards alongside with “Oscar” is Platonov Award 2014.
During the festival days Platonov Award ceremony 2015 will be held as a separate event. Traditionally its winners gain a diploma and monetary prize, and now there will also be a memorial sign, its creation is almost completed. Platonov Award holders 2011-2014 will also get these signs.
