Four Russian premieres, a new genre in the festival palette -"contemporary circus", four performances based on Platonov works and CIS projects! Yesterday at a press-conference the Artistic Director of the festival Mikhail Bychkov announced the theatre program of the 5th International Platonov Arts Festival.
For five years, one of the main creative partners of Platonov Festival has been Chekhov International Theatre Festival. Two international productions will be shown in Voronezh this time in collaboration with this major Russian theatre festival.
Voronezh citizens are already familiar with one legendary French puppeteer’s work: in 2011 at the first Platonov Festival Philippe Genty’s "Still travelers" was shown twice and had tremendous success.
"Forget me not" is one of the most beautiful Genty’s performances. It was created in 1992 and shown all over the world. In 2012 Genty and Underwood produced a new version of the original play in collaboration with the Norwegian actors. It is a unique opportunity for Platonov Festival’s audience to enjoy the new work of a great master.
