The second day of the Platonov Arts Festival has set up the Book Fair on the Soviet Square which presents books of independent publishing houses of different genres: from memoirs and biographies to children's literature. The Children's tent of the Book Fair suggests the youngest visitors interesting games, master classes and meetings with writers. Voronezh State Academic Russian Folk Choir named after K. I. Massalitinov was a special guest performing at the open air stage later this evening.
Today was the opening class of Commedia Dell’Arte Laboratory – the 4 days’ workshop under the leadership of Enrico Bonavera and Giorgio Bongiovanni, well-known Italian actors, perfromers of the leading parts in “Harlequin, the Servant of Two Masters” production of “Piccolo Teatro di Milano”. They will tell the actors of Voronezh theatres and students of the theatre faculty of Voronezh Academy of Arts participated in this workshop about the main characters of Commedia Dell’Arte, teach theatre masks techniques, situations and improvisations typical for traditional Italian comedy and even play alive some scenes from the legendary performance “Harlequin, the Servant of Two Masters” directed by Giorgio Strehler. The Laboratory will finish its work on June, 9 with a final showcase where students will present their scenes prepared during the Laboratory to the audience.
Kramskoy Art Museum welcomes everyone to visit the second festival exhibition which was opened today – it is a unique and large-scale project “Freedom - the reason for the world” that has gathered 78 Russian avant-garde works of 56 artists in one exposition.
Philharmonic Hall has held the concert of one of the most outstanding Spanish guitarists of our time - José María Gallardo del Rey. He has performed his solo compositions as well as the marvelous Concierto de Aranjuez with Voronezh Youth Symphony Orchestra, conductor Yury Androsov.
The press-conference with Mikhail Pletnev was held today at House of Journalists. Maestro has shared his impressions about the yesterday’s concert at Opera House and presented his new project – Rachmaninov Festival in the village of Ivanovka (Tambov region).

Theatre program of the day included “The Good Person of Szechwan” of the Moscow Pushkin Drama Theater, OKT/Vilnius City Theatre’s “Krapp's Last Tape” starring Juozas Budraitis and French open air show “Duo for a dancer and an excavator” on Lenin Square.
