Artists of Piccolo Teatro di Milano lead commedia dell'arte workshop in Voronezh

Enrico Bonavera and Giorgio Bongiovanni are ones of the most experienced artists of commedia dell’arte. During many years they have been acting in the legendary performance of Giorgio Strehler “Arlecchino, servant of two masters”:  Bongiovanni played Pantalone mask, Bonavera played Brighella and Harlequin. With this staging after the play of Carlo Goldoni started the history of Piccolo Teatro di Milano. Besides that, Bonavera and Bongiovanni teach scenic art and lead seminars in many European countries.

The workshop in Voronezh will be dedicated to theory and practice of subject schemes, characters,  masks, situations and improvisations typical for the commedy dell’arte. Students will learn with original props: handmade leather masks brought directly from Italy by Giorgio Bongiovanni and Enrico Bonavera.

The workshop is organized in cooperation with the Chekhov International Theatre Festival (Moscow).
