Russian National Orchestra conducted by Mikhail Pletnev performed at the close of the third Platonov festival

Earlier that day maestro took part in the press conference and it was a great gift for journalists, as the eminent musician is rarely involved in such events.

Mikhail Pletnev told about the program the orchestra played at night. According to him, Platonov and Shostakovich, who worked at one time, were united by the fact that they could not directly express their attitude to the existing order. Shostakovich used the "language of Aesop" and hided behind the facade of music titles and interpretations of parts of the symphony. This is a requiem, which shows all the pain and the horror of a fatal accident in Russia.

- It's a real miracle that these individuals, Platonov and Shostakovich, were not milled by system, - said the conductor.

In the first part of the concert will sound Alexander Glazunov's "The Seasons", which will remind the audience about the childhood, the spring and the joy of life - but the second part of the concert by the symphony of Shostakovich will literally trample all mood - as it happened once in the history of our country.

At the closing ceremony at the Opera and Ballet Theatre the head of the festival Mikhail Bychkov and the governor of the Voronezh Region Alexey Gordeev said welcome speech. The audience learned that the third festival was attended by over 40,000 spectators - which is 10,000 more than last year.

Before the concert, conductor and pianist Mikhail Pletnev has been awarded the Platonov prize in literature and art for the depth and harmony of the world's musical heritage interpretation. The musician said that the award relates to the whole Russian National Orchestra.
