Master class of Dmitry Zalessky in the Voronezh Opera and Ballet Theatre
The director of the Theatre of Modern Choreography D.O.Z.SK.I (Minsk, Belarus) Dmitry Zalessky came to Voronezh to get acquainted with the artists of the Voronezh Opera and Ballet Theatre. 19 and 20 March, he gave a master class for the artists and visited Festival Directorate, where he shared his thoughts about the future performance.
- In my opinion, Platonov’s oeuvre requires a theatrical choreography, and it is not enough just to "dance him", - says Dmitry. – That’s why the performance can not do without the details and objects that symbolize Platonov’s time. In the miniature I would like to show the idea of perpetual motion, hard work and worldliness of life - when a man stops dreaming and thinking about his soul.
Minsk choreographer Dmitry Zalessky is the winner of international competitions and festivals, the winner of Yevgeny Panfilov prize as the best choreographer of the International Festival of Modern Choreography in Vitebsk in 2010 and winner of the Grand Prize of the Special Presidential Fund for talented youth in Belarus.
He has choreographed for the Belarusian participants of "Eurovision", was the choreographer of the Ukrainian project "Everybody Dance", performed on television projects as director and choreographer, and collaborated with the St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre of Boris Eifman as a consultant of modern dance.
The theatre D.O.Z.SK.I works in the style of contemporary dance, focusing on contact improvisation, as well as developing author's technique. Theatre performances received awards at international competitions and festivals, participated in the International Festival "World Ballet Stars", the International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", in the non-competition program of the Golden Mask Festival and many others. In 2013 the theatre D.O.Z.SK.I has received the status of a state team.
In late spring, Dmitry Zalessky will again come to Voronezh to put the miniature which will become the part of the Vladimir Vasiliev Workshop.
