At the end of 2012 Platonov festival sums up the results of the past festivals.

For 2 years Platonov festival has gathered participants from 16 countries – Armenia, China, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Ukraine, France, Switzerland.

Next year this list will be enlarged by Austria, Israel and other countries - the festival will tell about it soon.

Since the first festival the forum site has been attended by over 150,000 people from 30 countries. Undoubtedly, it is an achievement not only of the festival management, but also of the participants and partners, who provided information about our festival on their Web sites and pages on social networks.

Over the past two years the festival gained such significant creative partners as Chekhov International Theatre Festival, The Golden Mask Festival, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Multimedia Complex of Actual Arts (Moscow), the State Museum of A.S. Pushkin, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the A.M. Gorky Institute of World Literature, The Goethe-Institut in Moscow and others.

Thanks to the festival the first large-scale book fair took place in Voronezh and festival guests met with famous contemporary writers, poets and publicists. In 2013 this literary project will be continued.

Among the festival premieres in Russia were «To be Gidon Kremer», «Miranda» by the Oskaras Koršunovas Theatre, «A Piece on Mother and the Fatherland» by the Polski Theatre (Wroclaw, Poland), «Happiness» by the Theatre on Pechersk (Kiev, Ukraine), ballet performances «The Rite of Spring» and «Daphnis and Chloe» by the Grenoble National Choreographic Centre (France). CasalQuartett and Chamber Orchestra CHAARTS (Switzerland), pianist Hong Xu (China) and Slovenian pianist Bojan Gorishek performed at the Festival for the first time in Russia.

Among the next year premieres we are expecting the concert of Italian diva Barbara Frittoli with the program dedicated to Verdi and musical portrait of the composer Andrei Volkonsky prepared by ensemble "Studio for New Music".

It is 5 months before the third Platonov festival starts - and then Voronezh will again plunge into the atmosphere of the main cultural event of the region.

We congratulate everybody with the coming winter holidays and wish to stay in a cheerful mood, never loose heart, sound health and success in all activities!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

See you in 2013!
