CasalQuartett made its debut in Russia at the Platonov Festival

The concert was unusual and very exciting for the musicians of CasalQuartett. The reason is the replacement of the first violin. Daria Zappa (who will soon become a mother) was replaced by the violinist Corinne Chapelle who is well known in the music world as a soloist. That is why Corinne does not mind to try "yellow jersey" in the quartet, where such a position is not provided.

In the first part of the concert three plays of the "Five Pieces for String Quartet" by Erwin Shulhoff were performed. The music of this composer includes elements of modernism, neo-classical, dance rhythms.

Then the String Quartet No. 1 by French composer Darius Milhaud was performed. This piece was written by the author at the age of 18 years and is filled with enthusiastic youth.

The second part of musicians devoted entirely to Schubert, Quintet in C major for two violins, viola and two cellos was performed. This piece requires masterly performance of each member of the ensemble. The audience appreciated the efforts of musicians by awarding them with flowers and applause.

And a few hours before the concert CasalQuartett visited the monument of Andrey Platonov. The Quartet cellist Andreas Fleck told it is the first time when he has participated in the festival that have such a large-scale program focused on a single name - Andrey Platonov.
